Study Skills

The Diener School’s Study Skills Program strengthens essential executive function skills, organization, time management, and planning, so students can become confident, independent learners.

Through direct instruction and hands-on practice, students learn to keep materials organized, manage their time effectively, create action plans for projects and learn healthy study habits. These skills empower them to approach academics with confidence and apply strategies to all areas of life.

We believe that every child has the power to make a meaningful impact on their community and the world.

Through inclusive, hands-on experiences, we nurture empathy, leadership, and civic responsibility in young people. Our goal is to transform the civic role of children, empowering them to become active contributors to society, not just in the future, but right now.

Social Skills

The Diener School’s Middle School Social Skills Program prepares students to handle the more complex social situations of adolescence, setting them up for success in high school and beyond.

Through guided instruction and real-world practice, students develop key skills in perspective-taking, conflict resolution, effective communication, self-advocacy, and collaboration. With these tools, they gain the confidence and awareness to navigate relationships and work effectively with others in any setting.

At The Diener School, middle school students enjoy a rich and diverse electives program offered twice a week, designed to spark creativity, build new skills, and encourage self-expression.

Our electives rotate throughout the year and include exciting options such as ZamDance, Science Guys, American Sign Language, cooking, theater, and more. These classes provide students with opportunities to explore their interests in a fun, hands-on, and multisensory environment. Whether they’re learning choreography, experimenting with science, or performing on stage, students gain confidence, collaboration skills, and a deeper sense of community.

Art

The Art Program is more than just painting and drawing, it's a vibrant, multi-sensory journey designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and support the unique learning styles of every student.

Tailored specifically for children with diverse abilities, our art curriculum integrates visual, tactile, auditory, and movement-based experiences to ensure that every child can express themselves in meaningful and joyful ways. Whether it's sculpting with clay, exploring textures through collage, or painting to music, students are encouraged to explore and create at their own pace in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Through art, our students discover new ways to communicate, connect, and shine. We believe that creativity belongs to everyone and in our studio, every brushstroke tells a story.

Our Physical Education (PE) program is designed to support every student’s growth through a focus on sportsmanship, cooperation, teamwork, and skill development.

We provide opportunities for students to learn and practice sport-specific techniques in a supportive and inclusive environment, helping them build confidence, improve physical skills, and enjoy being active with their peers. By encouraging personal progress and promoting a sense of community, we aim to cultivate lifelong habits of physical activity and teamwork.
